What We Do

The Avenue of New Generations adopted by Rotary international in 2010 recognises the positive change implemented by youth and young adults involved in leadership development activities that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding. New Generations Service also hopes to contribute to the positive change by youth and young adults involved in leadership development activities, community and international service and exchange programs. Programs include RYLA, Rotaract, Interact and Rotary Youth Exchange. The club has both sponsored youth going overseas and hosted young people coming to our district. On a local level youth in our district have been involved in a number of fund raising events and activities to raise the capital they need to financially support various projects which are their priority, One such project was the enclosing and weather proofing the bus shelter at the Maleny State High School.

A Notable Project an Example of What the Club Achieves

For a number of years the club through its “youth service committee” has been involved in a “bike ed program”. Members of the club travel to various primary schools in the Maleny area and provide practical road safety skills training which some believe has contributed to a much safer bike riding situation and less accidents amongst our young people.
