The Rotary Club of Maleny Public Relations
To represent and provide an ethical and transparent role model by taking a positive public stance on issues that effect our community and the world at large on behalf of ourselves, our club and the local community. To provide service to others, promote integrity and advance world understanding, good will and peace through our fellowship of business, professional and community leaders. Provide timely information and articles that can be disseminated through the informal and formal press that shed light on our activities, philosophy and and stance on issues that arise from time to time in the community.
Specific Activities and Events that Demonstrate What the Club Stands For and How We Promote the Club
We all committed to and actively participate in:
Investing time and energy on publicity and communication in Maleny and the Range to raise awareness in the community of the Club’s specific and Rotary in generals effort on behalf of the community.
Promoting the values of Rotary as an example of how individuals by joining can benefit from the personal development that being a member can provide and promote the value of supporting the organisation in general.
Ensuring Club committees and members to think about the importance of positive publicity for the club and Rotary as they implement their projects and stress the need to prepare interesting and eye catching material and information in good time, for dissemination to media outlets throughout the entire year.
Directing members and other parties interested in our activities the Club’s website.
Overall, through the effective dissemination of well prepared materials we have enjoyed regular coverage of events in the Range News such as our 50 year anniversary celebrations and the book produced to document those first 50 years, the training of school children in road satiety through “Bike Ed”, coverage of visiting Group Study Exchange teams, the granting of various accolades and support such as “Rotary Scholarship Awards”, “Paul Harris Awards”and “Student Science Forum”. Other worthy activities that need to be promoted are: the annual Maleny Rotary Calendar, the life saving Bowel Scan campaign, various “Peace Scholarships” and the provision of “Shelter Boxes” to disaster areas.
Much of what the club does is is publicised on our blog and regular updates can be found at our blog: http://malenyrotary.blogspot.com/
