About

Maleny Rotary is dedicated to encourage Rotarians to seize the many opportunities Rotary offers to enrich their lives and the community they serve.

During the last 60 years Maleny Rotary have initiated and sponsored many local community projects from developing the Mary Cairncross Park to the current Maleny precinct.

Pride of workmanship Awards

In recent years, Maleny Rotary has encouraged local business and community members to nominate employees who are deserving of recognition for their service to the public. The nominated employees are presented with a plaque by Maleny Rotary to acknowledge their workplace excellence in our community.

Protecting the environment

We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and foster harmony between communities and the environment

Our Committee

Scott WassmanPresident
In the mid-1960s as a youngster on Maui, I first became aware of Rotary’s role and cachet in their community.
With family and work, it wasn’t until 1997 that I joined the Rotary Club of Hamilton, Brisbane where I was President in 2001-02.
Following the sale of my electrical manufacturing business in 2008, I worked in Central Australia on Indigenous Youth, and other social programmes, and South West Queensland in Health Service infrastructure.
In 2022, my wife, Helen, and I purchased our property in Maleny where I was quickly welcomed into the Maleny Rotary family and subsequently offered the opportunity to lead this very connected, engaged and active Rotary club in 2024-2025.
